Menorca Hotels and Accommodation

(Menorca, Balearic Islands, Spain)

With so many different beaches and secluded coves scattered around its 216-km / 134-mile coastline, it is really no surprise that Menorca has become such a leading tourist destination within the archipelago of the Balearic Islands. Considering that Menorca is a relatively small island, it is home to more than 200 hotels, offering everything from beachfront accommodation to traditional, rather rustic lodging, tucked away in central villages.

Many of the hotels are gathered together in Mao (Mahon), the island capital, on the easterly side of Menorca. Mao's busy port is regularly frequented by ferries brimming with holiday makers looking for accommodation, often arriving from Palma de Mallorca.

The Plaza de s'Esplanada is very much central to life in Mao and numerous hotels are just a short stroll from this prominent public square and the nearby Mercat Claustre del Carme shopping centre. Reliable accommodation in this part of Menorca can be found along the Avinguda del Port Mao, the Carrer de la Infanta and the Carrer de Santa Cantalina.

Alternatively, look for hotels in other popular resorts, such as the coastal city of Ciutadella, which lies on the far western side of Menorca, close to the Cales Piques, the Cala Blanca and Santandria. The southerly coast of Menorca is filled with beachfront hotels and is where you will find countless popular stretches of sand, such as the Cala de Sant Llorenc, the Platges de Son Bou and also the Platja Sant Tomas.
